More snippets on Android 2.1 for HTC Hero

The guys over at Engadget has recently posted about the HTC Hero update coming out in Mid March. Seems like a pretty solid piece of news given that HTC’s Benelux team was the one putting the word out.

What’s exciting to note in the update would be the new Friend Stream widget, similar to MotoBlur, along with a handful of improvements on top of the Android OS 2.1 update.

Does that means it’s advisable to buy HTC Hero now?

It really depends on what you are looking for in a phone. The Hero’s successor has been announced by HTC a few days back, being the HTC Legend. It will be released soon (depends on where you are in the world though) and it has updated specs compared to the Hero. Is that a concern to you? Are you obsessed with having the latest & greatest offer to come? If so, Legend is for you. If you have a budget that you would like to adhere to, the Hero is for you.

After all, they both get the latest Sense update, the only differences would be in the design and hardware department. Hope this helps!
